Original, charming and uber-stylish, this luxury ski chalet in Chamonix is really special find. Nestled in the quiet and pretty village of La Lavancher, it feels hidden away from swish, party-loving Chamonix, yet is just a short, chauffeured hop into the center of town.
Inside, however, it’s your private, whimsical winter wonderland.
The silver and white living space, overlooked by the roaring fire, has high-backed sofas and armchairs for extra cosines as well as superb views of the mountains. It’s a fabulous spot in which to relax with friends over drinks in the evenings as you catch up on the day’s events. The cinema room gives you all a more laid-back place to chill out with beers and a films, or why not hold your own movie matinée, complete with hot chocolate and popcorn? Nearby, the sophisticated wood-clad dining room with fabulous paintings on the walls gives dinner an air of the stately home.
Each of the bedrooms has its own unique look, from headboards with Highlands style to Baroque-look feature walls and window seats with to-die-for views. Every double suite has its own access to a terrace as well as luxury en-suites, and the kids’ bunk room makes for a cosy retreat the little ones will be happy to toddle off to at the end of the evening.
For those seeking some serious pampering, the chalet has its own gym, spa and indoor swimming pool. After a long day on the slopes, you can soothe away any aching legs in the sauna or steam room and then a gentle float in the heated pool with hydrojets.

February 5, 2020 at 8:58 pmOur 6th stay at Chalet Alinda which says it all really. A truly relaxing holiday (apart from the skiing!), with our hosts providing a real home from home.
Helpful ReviewThe chef’s cooking was divine as usual. Breakfasts to set us up for the day, a delicious array of cakes on our return from the slopes and stunning food every night.
We were 4 adults and 6 children and had a brilliant holiday yet again. Thank you chlets for another triumph!

April 19, 2019 at 7:26 pmWe stayed in April 2019 and had a wonderful time at Chalet Alinda. In preparation for our holiday Viktoria was excellent at sorting out our ski hire, lessons etc and she even telephoned us in the UK to discuss options in advance of our stay. The best thing about the chalet had to be the food – chef continued to produce wonderful meals every evening – even the kids meal was superb. Freshly baked cakes along with bread and jam welcomed us each afternoon after a busy day on the slopes and canapés and drinks followed at 7pm. The chalet is cute, warm and inviting, chauffeur was very accommodating at ferrying us to and from the slopes each day and carseats were provided for the children. Overall we had a lovely time and would certainly recommend chalet Alinda for anyone who wants a quality catered chalet.

April 3, 2019 at 1:37 pmIt is hard to identify the best element of a stay at Chalet Alinda. Whether it’s the beautiful setting and aspect of the property, the attentiveness and bonhomie of host, or the superior quality of all the food, everything about our most recent trip, as in previous years, was once again approaching some sort of perfection. Adding fine food and wine to the mix made for some very pleasantly conversational evenings.
Helpful ReviewOn the food, there was once again full accord amongst all the guests as to the delights of the procession of canapes, starters, mains and desserts to which we were treated each day. Any thoughts as to asking for the recipes were deterred as chef reeled off the list of juice, dressings, cooking methods and ingredients involved in each dish – the results being testament to his hard-earned skill in the kitchen and the time which seems to go into the preparation of each meal.
Rather than being treated as merely paying guests, as can be the case with the larger ski companies of this world, you feel that you are visiting an incredibly accommodating friend’s house which has the pleasant effect of allowing you to feel full at ease and ready to enjoy a well-earned break.

March 24, 2019 at 6:59 pmWe stayed at Chalet Alinda for 1 week this March, and believe me, this is a true gem! The hosts have managed to combine outstanding food with attentive service to produce a genuinely unique experience. We found ourselves on the lift debating what new exciting dish chef was going to produce that evening, we were never disappointed!
It isn’t often that I find myself wanting to visit the same place twice, but I find myself already checking the diary for 2020!
Thanks for such a great week!
