The term ‘chalet’ hardly seems to do credit to the four-floor luxury residence. The property dates back to 1904 and was originally owned by the Chanel dynasty. It has recently undergone a complete renovation, with one eye on sustainability and another, as befits the home of the Chanel family, very much on style.

Throughout the house, antique pieces sit comfortably next to contemporary furniture. Eight en-suite bedrooms, all individually designed, sleep 16 people very comfortably. Each room has something special about it, whether it’s a fabulous dressing room, or a balcony with mountain views.

The generous living spaces include a sitting room with log fire, drawing room, wood-panelled dining room, cinema room and games room, so there’s space to rest, relax and play together, and plenty of room to find a quiet corner to yourself should you want to.

With a location as stunning as this, however, you’ll want to make the most of the outdoors and where better to enjoy the view than from the hot tub on the lower floor terrace or the stunning outdoor swimming pool. And while you’re spoiling yourself rotten, it would be rude not to spend an hour or two in the hammam and enjoying a facial or massage in the treatment room adjacent to the gym.

At the chalet, your every need has been carefully considered and to this end the property has a fully stocked wine cave at your disposal. Thank heavens for that!
